乐团简介
Nox一词源于拉丁语，在希腊神话当中是指夜之女神，夜神，掌管梦与死亡。
Arc括适困宜ana是拉丁文arcanum的复数，意思为「隐藏的真理」或「来自奥秘的知识」，塔罗牌的常用短语。
Nox Arcana的成立是由著名哥特艺术家Joseph Vargo所创立。Joseph亦是Midnight Syndicate乐队的灵魂人物，Midnight Syndicate乐队的所有成员也成为Nox Arcana一员。启发Joseph创作《Darklore Manor》360百科源于他喜好黑暗题材，在Darklore Manor得到灵感。当他有这个想法的时候，Jos心被孩eph集合团队和志同道合的朋友--作曲家、音乐家William Piotrowski共同创作一件发生在传说中闹鬼屋的音乐鬼故事。

Joseph Vargo本身是一个才华横溢的歌特艺术家，在创建NOX ARCANA之前，曾经给多部歌特相关的出版物做过封面、插画，自己也从事歌特文示风多度学的创作。03年他开始音买治行燃材三雨滑态半乐领域的探索，于是有了NOX 晶密虽克植河外展婷ARCANA。另一位成员William Piotrowski，15岁就开始了他的音乐职业生涯，他在NOX ARCANA里主要负责乐器演奏、键盘、还有后期合成等。 从2003年到2011年他们总共发行了16张专辑质课华起称黑价，而且每张专辑的主题都很明确，有描述吸血鬼、狼人及女巫的经典故事，有描输饭味矿盟浓伟武能主述邪恶女皇、阴暗古堡的黑暗童话还有讲述海盗、幽灵船、千年宝藏的传奇故事等等。尽管不愿承认，但也不可否认，来自美国的Midnight Sy买植丰调货局气初志我ndicate开创了一个暗黑氛围的新纪元。M卷额可粒革轮伟语idnight Syndicate的创始人Edward Douglas打小就是重金属乐队Black Sabba论皇th的忠实拥趸，在玩了6年金属后发现自己不是这行的料，又迷上了哥特艺术家Joseph Vargo的神秘学，Douglas对这种中世纪黑暗神秘的东西参悟能力很快，并且有了黑金的底子，这种东西很快就上手了。在96年改名Midnight Syndicate后，随后97年第一张同名专辑就"炮制"出来。这在Bon Jovi流行的美国一下子就火了起来引还待结愿，最大的下载网站MP3*com一周内专辑下载量就轻松破了10万，在文化中心美国的成功也使得Midnight Syndicate全世界名声大造，这也传到了中国，现在很多国人还把Midnight Syndicate奉为暗黑圣经，也从侧面表现出了其影响。

Joseph Vargo和William Piotro红怎便wski Joseph和William对于神秘、黑暗十分沉迷，由相片中透露出他们对中古时代的偏爱。他们两通过一些诡秘怪异之事以音乐形式给大家一种全新的黑暗感受。William擅长键盘创作，他由15岁就开始他的音乐历程，而Joseph的艺术气质不止是融入在音乐上，他也是一名黑暗艺术插画家，所以Nox Arcana的CD封面勾画都是出自他的手笔。

本张专辑是一张很纯粹的歌特式黑氛围音乐。专辑是以一个真实的诡异传说为蓝本创作的，阴冷厚重的黑色氛围，不禁让人联想到那些古老神秘的维多利亚建筑，幽灵与超自然实体的出没地。其中第11首曲子《Nursery rhyme》描述了在废弃庄园中发现的一只诡异的音乐盒,音乐盒中的曲子让人们被一种莫名的悲伤情绪所笼罩,仿佛在讲述这个被诅咒家族的不幸故事。
Darklore家族和庄园的历史是个沉浸在一片阴森血黯之中的可怕悲剧。鬼屋的故事遍及美欧大陆，但很少有可怕的非自然事件能够与在Darklore庄园所发生的事相比。这栋维多利亚时期的鬼屋大约位于美国马萨诸塞州Gloucester镇Salem海岸线那一头。自殖民时代起，在当地就有奇异的传闻流传。当地土著部落将那个区域称为"幽灵徘徊之地"，很少有人敢走进庄园周围的森林。人们相信，那区域与1692年声名狼藉的女巫审判有关，那里是黑魔术者们的避难所。
这庄园是1892年Edmund Darklore为他那年轻可爱的妻子Delarosa所建。在建造之时就死过不少人，之后又有一系列的灾难和死亡降临在Darklore庄园。从1941年最后的主人Damon Darklore和妻女在庄园里神秘失踪后，就不再有人居住。

这一次的故事发生地选在了马萨诸塞州的米斯卡塔河悬崖，在我的印像中这个地方好像出过一些写神秘主义及恐怖小说的家伙。Nox Arcana的故事以一道闪电开场，用二十一首音乐讲述了这个阴暗的有着腐朽气息地方令人恐怖的过去。所谓的刑事疗养院里从前住满了危险且具攻击性的疯子和犯人们，当然这不是最悲惨的。和电影里一样，这些残暴的家伙现在落到了比他们心理更加阴暗变态的医生手里，被用来进行各种疯狂，邪恶的活体实验。疯人院被长得青苔的高耸坚固的石墙所环绕，锈得再也无法分开的铁丝网告诉我们没有人能从这里逃脱。几十年中，痛苦和折磨从来没有停止过，一直到它被废弃。而Nox Arcana的故事在这里才刚刚开始，疯人院的废墟，床单已经黄得近乎褐色的病床，长满铁绣的手术刀具上斑斑点点分不清是氧化还是之前的血迹。音乐似乎引领着我们在这个疯人院的走廊，角楼间回还。不知道何时被何人封死的隔离室里还传出阵阵撕人心肺般的哀号。 Nox Arcana努力想制造一种古世纪和有古典风格的音乐氛围，或者说中世纪式的恐怖范。并结合以庄严的钢琴演奏和钟旋律，且不时的加入葛里高利式咏叹合声。
